Woelwaters Beach House
Woelwaters Beach House is a stunning self catering house in Onrus. It consists of the main house and an annex. They can be rented out as 1 (sleeping 11) or individually with the annex sleeping 4 and the main house 7. it is located just over the quiet road from the beach (5 meters away) and has stunning views. The main house has 3 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, however only the main bedroom bathroom has a bath and shower – the other two bedrooms only have showers. The main bedroom also leads out onto the patio (through sliding French doors), which has magnificent views of the beach and lagoon. The kitchen and dining room (with a 10 seater dining table) are open plan, with doors that open up onto the beachfront. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, tumble dryer and washing machine. There is also a fireplace in the living area which is great in the evenings. The TV is set up for DSTV, but you will need to bring your own card. The Annex can be rented out separated from the main house. It has 2 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, and 1 has French doors opening out to the beachfront. Open plan kitchen and lounge, all opens up into the garden with a braai area and views of the sea and mountains.

The beach is only 5 meters away, as is the lagoon. We are also only 1 minute away from a very nice restaurant. Onrus has lots of arty shops and galleries and coffee shops that are worth a visit. There is wine tasting at nearby estates. The mountains in Walker Bay are also fantastic to go hiking

Perlemoen Guest House is situated on a peninsular, just 1 street up from the sea. It has 3 separate self catering options available. These are the Main House, Adjoining Cottage and Second Cottage (imaginative names we know). The main house has 3 double bedrooms, each on its own floor. Each bedroom is en suite. The loft has two additional single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, and stove. Plus of course cutlery and crockery. There is a TV in the lounge with DSTV installed – you just need to bring your own card. In total the main house can sleep 8. The adjoining cottage has 1 double bedroom (downstairs) and 2 twin bedrooms (upstairs). There are also 2 single beds on the upstairs landing (out of the way of course). There are 3 bathrooms, 2 with showers. The kitchen is fully kitted and the lounge has a TV. The main house and adjoining cottage are only let out if the same group is taking them both. This is because they share an entertainment area with braai and thatch. They also share 4 off-street parking spots. The adjoining cottage can sleep 8. The second cottage has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom (en suite). The living area and kitchen are open plan, and has its own private garden, braai area and off-street parking.

Klondyke Cherry Farm
Klondyke Cherry Farm is a working cherry farm that has 3 self catering cottages and a campsite/caravan park. It is set 1200meters above sea level so does get quite colder than the rest of Ceres. In fact, during winter it frequently snows, making the entire area look magical. If in season (which is from the last week of November – the end of December) you can go cherry picking on the farm which is a ton of fun. Out of cherry season, there is still plenty to do. See nearby activities below for the full breakdown. The 3 cottages each sleep a different number of people. Cottage 1 is called Cherry Cottage. It has 2 bedrooms, each with twin beds, so it sleeps 4. There is a separate bathroom and open plan kitchen/lounge. Cherry Cottage is down by the cherry blossoms. The 2nd cottage is called Duck Pond Cottage. This sleeps 2 with 1 bedroom, en suite bathroom and open plan kitchen/lounge. Duck Pond Cottage is under an Oak next to the dam. Cottage 3 is The Farmhouse. The Farmhouse has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it sleeps 8. There is a large living room and separate dining and kitchen area. The Farmhouse is right next to the dam. There is also a campsite/caravan park on the farm with 6 electricity points and a hot water ablution block. Each cottage has its own braai area.

Edenvue Chalets
Edenvue Chalets are 3 wooden self catering chalets, all built on a working farm. They are fully equipped with a kitchen, lounge, 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom. There is aircon, a fireplace and a large balcony with fantastic views. Outside is a braai area and a shaded area with outdoor bench/table. In the bedroom there is a double bed, and 2 single beds. Secure undercover parking is also available. These chalets provide a great experience of living on a working farm, while still having the luxury you’d expect. It is not directly in Ceres, but about 10km out of it, near Prince Albert’s Hamlet. They are also pet friendly, so bring your furry friends along. The chalets are very tastefully furnished and comfortable.

Ann’s
Ann’s Cottage is a small 1 bedroom self catering cottage just outside of Ceres (approximately 30km). The bedroom has a double bed and all linen and bedding is provided. The lounge has a sleeper couch, which means you could sleep 2 more people here. There is also a TV, but unfortunately no DSTV. The kitchen is fully equipped (although no dish washer), and the bathroom has a shower and bath. There is a nice patio (stoop) which has excellent views over the dam and a braai (under cover). There is another open braai in the garden. In winter the whole area is covered in snow, which is a sight you really can’t miss. On the premises there is a 4×4 trail you can do. You can also go mountain biking, swimming in the dam or snowboarding in winter. It is family own and run and really is a nice break from the commercial b&b’s that seem to be cropping up all over the country. This is a return back to what a Bed & Breakfast used to be.

Ceres Inn is a large 14 bedroom bed and breakfast in Ceres. The rooms are divided up as such: 9 rooms are en suite, 4 bedrooms are budget and share a bathroom (1 bathroom per 2 rooms), and 1 room is the Honeymoon Suite. The en suite rooms have fans, heaters (some have aircon), tea/coffee trays and DSTV. The budget rooms have a TV and tea/coffee tray. The Honeymoon suite is en suite, has its own entrance, DSTV and a sauna and jacuzzi. A full English breakfast is served, and on the premises there is a pub and Witherley’s Bistro. There is a lovely garden, with a swimming pool and braai facilities. The Ceres Inn is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. It can equally be booked out entirely for large groups of 30 people. It is centrally located so is perfect to use as a base to explore the rest of Ceres, or to stay over while on a trip between Joburg and Cape Town.

Anguna Holiday Flats is a holiday apartment complex, right on the beach in Margate. It has 6 apartments, each self catering, and all facing the sea. The complex lawns lead directly onto Lucien Beach (Blue Flag). The apartments are fully furnished and the kitchen has a microwave, fridge and dishwasher – who wants to do dishes while on vacation? There is also a TV with DSTV dish, but you will need to bring your own decoder and card. Each apartment has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two bedrooms have a double bed and 1 has two single beds. The flat can comfortably sleep 6 people. The apartments are excellently located right at the beach, but there are plenty of other nearby activities to keep you busy, such as tennis, fishing, squash, bowls and horse riding. It is also close to shops, the cinema and restaurants. There is only one parking bay available. Each additional parking bay required will be charged at R20 per day.
