Mango airlines have been quite a busy little airline as of late – could the launch of a new airline have anything to do with it? Just these last few weeks Mango have announced they will be flying to Zanzibar, a special running for G Connect inflight wifi, and their 7th birthday celebration competition.
Mango flights to Zanzibar
This is great news. After 1time airlines stopped flying, there were very few options (especially cheaper options) to fly to Zanzibar from South Africa. Mango airlines now fly direct to Zanzibar from Johannesburg. Prices vary depending on a variety of factors, but we were able to find one way flights for around R2200, with return flights to Zanzibar coming in at around +-R4500.
Mango G Connect inflight wifi special
Mango has been offering inflight wifi for quite sometime now, but we have always found it to be quite expensive, and a little slow (checking email is fine, but any other web surfing is just too slow). In order to promote more use of the service they have a special running up until the 31 October 2013. This special is for all routes. You can use g connect for just R5, which will get your wifi for your whole flight. If you ever wanted to try inflight wifi but were nervous about the price, now is the time.
Mango Airlines 7th Birthday celebrations
Can you believe that Mango have been around for 7 years already (kulula are still the oldest low cost airline in SA). To celebrate this they are running a competition. If you book and pay for your flight before the 7th November 2013, for travel up until May 2014, you are automatically entered into the lucky draw. There will be a total of 7 winners, and each winner will win R1000 every month, for 7 months. Here is the link to the competition page with the details and t’s and c’s.
