Gordon’s Bay is a Mediterranean style coastal town situated at the foot of the Hottentot’s Holland Mountain range just 30 minutes from Somerset West.

Gordon’s Bay is a serene resort where you are guaranteed a restful and relaxed holiday. Just 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, it is easily accessible. If you want to give the beach a break there are scenic drives through the wine routes of Stellenbosch and Franschoek. Further afield there is Paarl and Wellington, the latter being famous for its dried fruit. As for the beaches, these are some of the best in the Cape. Plenty of white sand and mesmerizing blue ocean to enjoy.

With wild air and sea temperatures throughout the year, Gordon’s Bay is perfect to visit any time. The Southeaster Winds, called the ‘Cape Doctor’, affords welcome relief from the heat in summer. The warm, balmy evenings make for pleasant leisurely strolls along the promenade.
MUST DO’S:
A visit to the main beach, aptly named Bikini Beach, is a must. Sheltered from the wind it is a popular spot for families and it has blue flag status which means that it has international quality rating of the highest order. For the wine lovers there are ample drives through the wine routes. The Steenbras Dam is a great picnic spot and in the Old Harbour there are opportunities for boat trips around False Bay. Take a drive through to Hermanus which is famous for its whale watching. For the history buffs there is a cannon and wagon-wheel walk situated on Sit Lowry’s Pass.
