Places to Visit in Toronto

A trip to Toronto’s CN Tower is like taking a trip to the top of the world. This tower is the most recognizable icon in Toronto and Canada, and stands at over 550 meters tall. An elevator ride takes you to the top of the tower, and once on top you can walk right across the see-through glass floor (not for the faint-hearted). There is also a revolving restaurant atop the towers complete with a world-class wine cellar. Kensington Market is another great place to visit. Originally known as the Jewish Market, Kensington Market is now a wonderful mix of cultural shops, restaurants and cafes. For something a little different, a visit to the Bata Shoe Museum should be considered. Here you can find a showcase of more than 10 000 shoes – a bit eclectic but fun nevertheless. Toronto Islands offer a wonderful family outing. Just a short ferry ride across from the harbour, the islands offer walking trails, picnic areas, swimming beaches as well as numerous sporting facilities. A great getaway from the city.
