Cheap San Francisco Flights
Many people consider San Francisco to be
amongst the most livable cities in America. This beautiful city, whose
cityscape has been made famous by the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, is the
perfect combination of moneymaking and radical thought. This amazing
dualism is evident in the city’s restaurant and night life scene,
its art and design and its eye-catching architecture. San Francisco has
an energy that is infectious and puts it on par with New York in many
ways. It is however a lot smaller and has a very good public transport
system. A car isn’t needed and tourists will thrive getting
around. The Bay, slotted nicely between the Golden Gate Bridge and The
Bay Bridge, is home to 14 small islands, including the infamous
Alcatraz. There are also the nearby Napa and Sonoma wine regions to
ensure wonderful weekend getaways. Both tourists and residents alike
love the City on the Bay.

Places to Visit in San Francisco
One of the most popular tourist destinations
in San Francisco is the Waterfront. Here world-famous attractions such
as Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square abound with
street performers, souvenir shops and restaurants. Another “must
visit” while in San Francisco is the Golden Gate Bridge.
The bridge’s engineering is truly amazing to behold and the
bridge has become one of the most photographed sights in the world.
Many feel that a visit to the city would be incomplete without a walk
across the bridge. The islands are also a great place to go, and one of
the most visited is Alcatraz. The former prison has become a tourist
must and is worth seeing. San Francisco still houses 3 original parks
– the most famous of which is Union Square. This public space
covers a multi-level underground parking garage and is surrounded by an
up-market shopping area. It is also nearby the city’s bustling
theatre district. All can be accessed by the city’s Cable Car
network – often referred to as San Francisco’s moving
landmark.
Airports in San Francisco
San Francisco International Airport,
situated on the edge of the San Francisco Bay, is the main airport
servicing the city. However, because of it’s positioning, it is
very susceptible to the city’s legendary fog and visibility is
often an issue. This results in many delays. Decent alternatives
include Oakland International Airport (about 25 miles from downtown San
Francisco) and San Jose International Airport (about 60 miles south of
San Francisco).
