Cheap Orlando Flights
Orlando is undoubtedly a theme park city. The previously quiet town
underwent a major face change in 1971 with the arrival of Mickey Mouse
and the rest of the Walt Disney World Resort. Since then SeaWorld and
Universal have contributed to the parks and almost 50 million visitors
now flock to the city every year. This tourism influx has resulted in
the growth of hotels, restaurants, shops and a number of smaller
attractions. But going past the city’s glitz and glamour
reveals a naturally beautiful side. The city houses more than 300
lakes, springs and rivers. There are also numerous walking and hiking
trails, and the zoos offer a more controlled area to showcase the
animals. There are countless outdoor opportunities, from picnicking to
fishing; and the countless museums, galleries and theatres are a
perfect cultural getaway.
Places to Visit in Orlanda
The epitome of Orlando for many is Walt Disney World. The 4 theme parks
(Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal
Kingdom); 2 water-parks (Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon); and 22
themed resorts together cover an area the same size as Boston. There is
fun for all ages and days can be dedicated to covering all the areas.
Orlando’s other top theme park destination is Universal
Orlando. Here there are 2 theme parks on offer as well as numerous
eating areas, parks and shows. Another great attraction in the city is
Cirque du Soleil. Orlando is one of very few places offering the show a
permanent venue and it attracts thousands of visitors annually. Another
dedicated Orlando performance is the Blue Man Group. These performers
combine miming, percussion and audience-involved antics to produce a
truly memorable show.
Airports in Orlando
The 2 main airports in Orlando are Orlando International Airport in
Orlando and Orlando Sanford Airport in Sanford.
