Cheap Los Angeles Flights

There are many reasons why Los Angeles is generally referred to as Tinseltown or La La Land. Stepping into this city is like stepping into an almost surreal world. The weather is warm and sunny, the people are generally beautiful and bikini-clad women can be seen roller-blading along the walkways at all hours, and world-famous actors and the general public can be seen dining in the same restaurants on a daily basis. For many, heading to the USA’s second largest city is an attempt to make it in the big time – LA is home to the film-making industry and Hollywood houses all the major studios. The coastline stretches for 122km along the Pacific coast of southern California, and the imposing skyscrapers inland make an impactful first impression. This vibrant city is a great place for all to play and party and to live life bigger than intended for a while.

Places to Visit in Los Angeles

Seeing as though much of Los Angeles is defined by the movie industry, a trip through Hollywood is a definite must. The actual Hollywood sign atop Mount Lee can be seen, followed by a trip along the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Here the handprints and footprints of countless celebrities can be found embedded in the walkway’s cement. Many of the film studios in and around LA offer tourist access to the premises to get a first hand glimpse of the filming industry. One of the most popular tours is of Universal Studios Hollywood. Here, you can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the film and TV studio, and then treat yourself to the Universal Experience – the chance to experience the industry first-hand through a theme-park experience. For a more historical perspective of Los Angeles, a trip to El Pueblo de Los Angeles is great. This state historic park just north of the financial district is the birthplace of LA. Here homage is paid to the city’s Mexican heritage and the old architecture has been preserved and traditional music, handicrafts and restaurants can be found in the area. For people hoping for a more cultural outing, the Museum of Contemporary Art is great. The museum showcases collections by leading modern artists, and even offers secondary sites in terms of Geffen Contemporary and the Pacific Design Centre. The Walt Disney Concert Hall is another great artistic visit, and is home to the prized LA Philharmonic Orchestra.

Airports in Los Angeles

The most famous airport in LA is Los Angeles International Airport, also known as LAX. It is owned by the city of Los Angeles and is, by far, the busiest airport serving the city. LA/Ontario International Airport is located in Ontario, California, and serves the Inland Empire. There are also a number of domestic airports throughout LA. These include Bob Hope Airport in the middle north-east of the city, John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Long Beach Airport in Long Beach, LA/Palmdale Regional Airport in Palmdale and Palm Springs International Airport near Palm Springs.
