Boston, referred to by many as the Cradle of
Modern America, is the largest city in New England and one of the
oldest settlements in the United States. There is much history in this
city, and there are many tours and places of interest in this
“walking city”. Renowned for it’s college and
research establishments, Boston is home to 57 universities, including
the prestigious Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT). With one in every 10 Bostonian residents being a
student, the city boasts a vibrant, youthful atmosphere. Boston’s
other claims to fame include the infamous Boston Tea Party, as well as
being the birthplace of Benjamin Franklin.

Places to Visit in Boston
The Freedom Trail is one of Boston’s
top attractions and definitely warrants a visit. The 2 and a half-mile
walk takes you through the city’s great historical landmarks. If
you have a whole day to dedicate to the trail you can stop and visit as
many of the landmarks as possible. The nation’s oldest botanical
garden, Boston Public Garden, is also a great tourist attraction. In
winter, the pond is an ice-skaters paradise, and spring see’s the
return of the world famous Swan Boats every year. For some great
shopping and dining, Quincy Market is a must. Officially known as
Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the market has great indoor and outdoor
offerings. For the sporting enthusiasts, there is perhaps no better

offers both live baseball games as well as behind the scenes tours.

Science at Science Park is a definite favourite. Here you will find

spectacular visit and is known for its collection of works by Claude
Monet. Then a rather frivolous but fun attraction is the Cheers Boston

served as inspiration for the TV show, Cheers, and numerous souvenirs
can be bought.
