Rome Info and highlights
All roads lead to Rome..as the famous line goes. But what to do once you get there? Rome is truly a magnificent city that will leave you amazed and in awe. Built by one of the greatest empires to rule the 'earth' the historical value is almost palpable. But what exacly should you do while there:
Firstly you have to go to the Colluseum - this mega building will blow you away by its size and what exactly used to happen there. From there walk along the main road away from the Colluseum and look at the maps showing the growth of the mighty Roman Empire. Further along that road you will pass the Roman Forum..also definitely worth a look and of course this is where Julius Ceasar was killed. Another very popular tourist spot it the Trevi Fountain and this is only a brisk walk away from the Spanish Steps.
Airports in Rome
Rome has two main airports. These are Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and Rome Ciampino (CIA). Ciampino is the smaller one of the two and is mainly used by the low cost European airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet. The airports are located at opposite sides of Rome but taxi's can take you through to them for around 50 euros.
