It is difficult to sum a country up in terms of highlights, but here is what we think. Lisbon is the capital and is definitely worth a few days. It is a large city but public transport is great and fairly affordable. The food is fantastic and if you are a seafood fan, you are in for a treat.
From there probably hire a car and take a slow drive all the way down to the Algarve. This is a very touristy area, however the views make it well worth the trip and the extra tourists.
