Paris Info
Paris is possibly the most visited city in the world and is generally known as the 'City of Love'. It is a magical place, a place of poets, artists and high fashion. However it is also a very important business district, generating roughly a quarter of France's GDP. Like many famous Cities it was built, and developed, around a river, namely the Seine.
Paris Highlights
There is so much to do in Paris, that a weekend simply will not do. Here are just some of the highlights that you simply must do while in Paris.
Walk the Champs-Elysees and see the very expensive and high-end fashion and jewellery shops. At the top of the Champs is the Arc de Triomphe, which honours the French soldiers. A little known secret is that you can actually go onto the roof of the Triomphe - just look for the small door on the inside of the arch.
Of course you have to go to the Eiffel Tower. Try go a little later in the afternoon to miss the crowds, and always go right to the top.
A river cruise is also a fantastic idea, and look out for a mini Statue of Liberty. Moulon Rouge is definitely worth a visit, but go during the day to give yourself time to wander through the market and enjoy a long lunch.
Airports in Paris
Paris has two main airports that accept international flights. These are Paris Orly (ORY) and Paris de Gaulle (CDG).
Paris Orly is the smaller of the two and is mainly used ofr european flights. Both airports are located outside of the city and accessible via train.
Flights to Paris from South Africa
Of course the main airline flying to paris is Air France. However various other airlines also fly to Paris, including South African airways, KLM, Etihad Airways and lufthansa.
