New Zealand Flights

New Zealand consists of 2 islands surrounded by a handful of smaller islands, all of breathtaking beauty. The extreme eco-diversity encompasses beautiful beaches, rainforests, volcanic pools, glacier-fed lakes, and an array of plant and animal-life. It’s easy to see why it made the perfect backdrop for the Lord of The Rings movies and has tourists flocking there on an ongoing basis. The main islands are named the North Island and the South Island and are separated by Cook Strait. The northern part of North Island houses the country’s largest city, Auckland. About 240 km south of Auckland is the volcanic town of Rotorua – this area see’s tourists flocking to the geysers, pools of boiling mud, springs of hot mineral water, silica terraces, colored craters and hissing fumaroles. The southern island is larger but is dominated by the Southern Alps which extend the whole length of the island, meaning that only about one third of the population lives there. Getting around New Zealand is quick and easy as the country has placed emphasis on having an efficient transport system. The wildlife is a definite attraction but for those after something a little different, the country also has an extremely rich wine culture. Employment in the country is excellent, with estimated unemployment rates being a miniscule 3.5%.
