Kenya has some of the continent’s
finest wildlife attractions. Regarded by many as the ‘jewel of
East Africa’, Kenya has beautiful beaches, magnificent wildlife
and scenery, coral reefs and national parks. The huge rolling expanse
of savannah houses many national parks as well as a number of tea and
coffee plantations. The Great Rift Valley is also an amazing sight to
see and show’s up as a great scar along the African continent.
With over 50 parks and reserves, including 6 marine parks in the Indian
Ocean, Kenya is first and foremost a safari destination. The population
itself is very diverse, with about 40 different tribes calling the
region home. The most famous of these tribes is the Masai, who still
live a semi-nomadic lifestyle and can be seen herding cattle along the
country’s southern border. While Bantu languages are the mother
languages of 60% of the country’s population, English is regarded
by many as Kenya’s official language. Whilst Kenya is very geared
towards tourism, there is a lot of pressure on tourists to buy anything
and everything, generally at very over-inflated prices. Even taking
photo’s in the towns usually comes at a cost.
Places to Visit in Kenya

July/August, many tourists flock to the reserve to see the great
wildebeest migration where hundreds of wildebeest and zebras migrate
north from the Serengeti in Tanzania. Tsavo National Park is
Kenya’s largest national park and is located near the coast, a
major drawcard for many tourists. Amboseli National Park is another

missed.
