Durban's tropical weather
make it the ideal beach vacation. It's a city full of
local culture and is thriving. The Durban beachfront
is often refered to as "The Golden Mile".
If you are into beaches and want to try out the surf,
then head over to Durbs.
Durban
Quick Guide
Durban makes
for a fantastic family holiday and location for us Sun
worshippers. The beaches are long and wide with beautiful
soft white sand and a deep dark blue ocean. With the Drakensberg
close by, there is always plenty to do, when the sunburn
starts to turn purple. The beaches have actually been compared to those in Mauraitius (Mauritius Airlines)
Tips/Hints
Avoid the city
centre. Always pack a bottle of water and some suncream
as it gets HOT! As with most places in South Africa, a
car is a necessity. There are various car hire companies to use. Some are local like Imperial car hire. For more information, please go here.
Must
Do's
Have a Bunny
Chow. This is a local speciality, but not for the faint
hearted. It is a spicy curry poured into a loaf of bread
that has been hollowed out. Any of the amazing beaches.
Take a yaucht trip around the harbour. There are also
quite a few townships that are worth a visit if you have
the time.
The crime element is definitely an issue, but of course it depends where you stay as well as how careful and aware you are while you travel
