Bloemfontein is a city with many faces. Situated in central South Africa it lies on main road, air and rail links. The tree-lined President Brandt Street is a national monument. The sports stadium – Vodacom Park – will be hosting matches in the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Take a trip to the Bloemfontein Zoo for the day or a sleepover (Zoo snoozes). For the stargazers a visit to the Boyden Observatory just outside the city centre is a must.
HINTS/TIPS:
The airport is just outside the city and accommodates flights from all major domestic destinations. The temperature soars in summer so keep sunblock and refreshments handy.

For the culture-vulture there are many interesting places to visit. There are many historical buildings – namely City Hall, the Old Presidency, the Anglican Cathedral and the Dutch Reformed Twin Tower Church. At the Aventura Maselspoort Resort you can enjoy various activities and watersports. It is wonderful for a family day out. At the Free State Botanical Gardens you can experience plant displays, beautiful walks and there is also a plant nursery so you can purchase your own favourite plants.
